CHLOR-SAN – Chlorinated Alkaline disinfectant
CHLOR-SAN is a low foaming alkaline disinfectant containing organ chlorine compounds for effective disinfection.
CHLOR-SAN is suitable for all manual disinfection of floors, walls and equipment in the food industry and
and high risk areas in hospitals.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS OF CHLOR-SAN
· The blend of alkalis used in the formulation of CHLOR-SAN ensure rapid break-up of fats and grease thus giving
swift effective disinfection.
· Because CHLOR-SAN contains corrosion inhibitors and is non-caustic it is completely safe to use on all surfaces,
including aluminium and will not cause corrosion problems.
· Sufficient sequestering agent is included in CHLOR-SAN for all water conditions found in South Africa, making
the product effective in hard and soft water areas.
· CHLOR-SAN is non-volatile and stable on storage if kept dry.
· CHLOR-SAN is unperfumed and therefore suitable for all food industry applications.
· The blend of quick and slow chlorine compounds in CHLOR-SAN allows for continual release of chlorine
providing effective disinfection throughout the cleaning operation. i.e. all the chlorine is not immediately released.
PACKAGING
CHLOR-SAN is packed in 25kg bags, 5kg buckets and boxes with 100 x 6gram sachets.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Dilutions of CHLOR-SAN can be varied through a wide range according to the degree of soiling present.

| Incubators | 12g | Clean thoroughly, rinse and dry. |
| Instruments | 12g | Soak for 30 minutes. Wash and then rinse thoroughly. |
| Sputum mugs | NEAT | Empty into sputum mugs and add water. Leave for 30 minutes. |
| Infected organic material e.g.: blood, matter, vomit, faeces, urine etc.. | NEAT | Sprinkle powder onto infected matter and mop up. |

| Infected bedpans / urinals | 12g | Fill bedpan and urinal with solution and leave for 30 minutes. |

N.B 6g of CHLOR-SAN in 9 litres of water yields 300 ppm available chlorine.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
CHLOR-SAN is alkaline so caution should be exercised and protective clothing worn.
For accidental skin contact, rinse well with water.
For accidental eye contact, bathe well and seek medical advice.
For ingestion: Drink plenty of milk or water. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Obtain immediate medical advice.
Do not mix with acids, as this liberates toxic gas.
